S Carmichael Properties Ltd wants to build the houses near Peebles on land to the east of Knapdale, Edinburgh Road. The planning application was first submitted in July last year. The developer made an appeal to the Scottish Government after no decision was taken by Scottish Borders Council. On behalf of its client, THE Architecture and Planning submitted an appeal statement on February 23. It read: “The development proposal provides an attractive housing development that can be successfully integrated into the surrounding landscape of Peebles and has minimal effect on the setting of the town.”
