that suspected bomb-maker whose three-day manhunt gripped the san francisco area, expected to make his first court appearance today. police arrested ryan kelly chamberlain yesterday afternoon after finding the fugitive in his car not far from his home in an area under the golden gate bridge. on saturday, hazmat teams were sent to his home following an fbi raid when agents found bomb-making materials there. friends say chamberlain started acting strangely after losing his job. so in a courtroom, the judge is usually the person to keep order, right? when tensions run high. but that wasn t the case in this florida court when a judge challenged an assistant public defender to a brawl. the extraordinary scene caught on courtroom video. and trace gallagher is live for us in l.a. with more on this. you don t see this every day. and it s all on video. it is.

good morning on this tuesday. i m linzie janis. i m john muller. we will begin with the developing story from san francisco. a suspect who was the subject of an intense manhunt is now in fbi custody. ryan kelly chamberlain was arrested by the san francisco police not far from his apartment. abc michael barr has the latest developments. reporter: federal agents and san francisco police arrested ryan kelly chamberlain under the golden gate bridge. i heard some commotion, looked over my shoulder and saw somebody was getting arrested. there was commotion going on. it was quickly evident it was more than some traffic stop violation. reporter: officials say they had chamberlain on their radar all day and he was trailed by sizable task force of local and federal agents. law enforcement across the country had been looking for 42-year-old chamberlain since saturday, when they found explosives in his san francisco apartment. fbi agents donned biochemical suits to protect against toxins
deadly chemicals and even radiation. the affidavit and search warrant used to enter the apartment is still under seal. authorities asked for the public s help finding chamberlain and cautioned he was considered armed and dangerous. he was taken into custody without incident. they found the white 2008 nissan altima he was last seen driving. chamberlain is expected to appear in court on tuesday. michael barr, abc news, new york. now the latest on bowe bergdahl. the former p.o.w. and his parents are expected to be reunited in san antonio. the deal worked out is criticized by some soldiers he served with in afghanistan. bergdahl s former team leader said his actions cost american lives. the u.s. military launched a massive search and missions. they were changed in the wake of his capture. republicans in congress questioning whether the prisoner swap sets a dangerous precedent. our coverage continues with abc s brian ross. reporter: the five freed detainees are living in luxury
