Borisov: Russia not planning to replace imports from Belarus

MINSK, 3 February (BelTA) - Russia is not planning to replace imports from Belarus with its products, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov said after a meeting with Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko in Minsk on 3 February, BelTA has learned. No plans are in the works in Russia to substitute Belarusian-made products. In other words, we are not going to replace the products imported from the Republic of Belarus, Yuri Borisov said when asked about possible import substitution of Belarusian goods.
According to him, the government is not going to spend the Russian budget money to duplicate the products that the brotherly nation can supply us with.
PM calls to decide on funding of new Belarus-Russia satellite soon
MINSK, 3 February (BelTA) – We need to determine the funding of the new Belarusian-Russian satellite soon, Belarus Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said as he met with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov in Minsk on 3 February, BelTA has learned.
“We need to make a decision regarding the financing of the Belarusian-Russian joint project to set up an earth remote sensing device as soon as possible,” said Roman Golovchenko.
In his opinion, Belarusian and Russian companies have the infrastructure and the potential to carry out joint research in the radioelectronic industry. Roman Golovchenko also spoke in favor of equal competitive conditions. “We need to discuss the ways to remove barriers so that the companies could cooperate more closely,” said the Belarusian head of government.

Given the latest developments we must, in my opinion, strive for a new level of cooperation in industry, science and technology,” Roman Golovchenko noted.

“It is probably too early to say that we have made decisions that will yield immediate results. The most important thing is that we have agreed on an algorithm governing further interaction not only between ministries and departments, but also between enterprises and associations of enterprises, concerns, corporations. They will soon hold a series of intensive roundtable discussions and conferences,” Roman Golovchenko said.
