We had occupants evacuating one of the occupied apartment windows and people evacuating down the stair wells as well. One woman was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Six units were damaged. This was the second fire at an oakland Apartment Building in a week. Last monday four people were killed after a fire in an Apartment Building before city officials visiting they found a dozen safety violations. The fire was accidentally started by a burning candle.
