The MBTA announced Thursday afternoon that Red Line trains will return to Alewife by making use of the Russell Field headhouse, which the agency said is a "two-minute walk" from the garage.
The driver of a car that crashed through a concrete barrier on the roof of the MBTA Alewife Station garage and was left partially hanging directly above the main mezzanine of the station will be charged in the crash.
Most of the Alewife parking garage will reopen to motorists Wednesday, and the MBTA still hopes to resume Red Line train service to the Alewife terminus some.
