With the general public's return to the Dome, SU fans share what they missed

Subscribe to our sports newsletter here The general public waited 405 days to attend its first men’s lacrosse game in the renovated Carrier Dome. On Saturday, 683 fans watched Syracuse’s game against North Carolina, potentially the last and only home game this season that the general public was able to attend. Syracuse welcomed a limited number of students back to the Dome beginning on March 6, and just over a month later, the general public returned for SU’s women’s lacrosse game on April 10. Parents who waited a year to watch their kids play in the Dome were in attendance on Saturday and last weekend, too.

Beat writers expect Syracuse to break 2-game losing streak against Albany

Beat writers expect Syracuse to break 2-game losing streak against Albany Josh Shub-Seltzer | Staff Photographer Facebook Subscribe to our sports newsletter here With the 2021 selection show for the NCAA Tournament just over a month away, No. 9 Syracuse (4-3, 1-2 Atlantic Coast) enters a crucial stretch of games in a precarious spot.  Back-to-back losses to Duke and Notre Dame in conference play have shunted the Orange to the bottom of the ACC along with Virginia. Four scheduled games remain for SU, starting with a matchup against in-state rival Albany (5-2, 3-2 America East) on Thursday night at 5 p.m. The Great Danes have historically struggled against the Orange, losing six of their last seven meetings and 16 of their total 18 encounters.

Beat writers expect No. 4 SU to bounce back with win over No. 9 Notre Dame

Beat writers expect No. 4 SU to bounce back with win over No. 9 Notre Dame Josh Shub-Seltzer | Staff Photographer Facebook Subscribe to our sports newsletter here No. 4 Syracuse returns to the Carrier Dome this week to host No. 9 Notre Dame (4-1, 0-1) on Saturday. The matchup marks the second consecutive week and third time this season that the Orange are facing a conference opponent. Last week’s Atlantic Coast Conference matchup against then-No. 2 Duke in Durham, North Carolina ended in a one-goal loss for the Orange after they missed two last-second shots. Syracuse hasn’t lost two regular season games back-to-back since 2018 and hasn’t lost two conference games in a row since losing to Duke and Notre Dame in consecutive weeks in 2016.
