1 day ago Share Based on seniority, Commissioner Rosemary Wilsen takes over the mayor pro tem role from Commissioner Larry Brinson. The Ocoee Commissioner heard about concerns regarding homelessness from representatives from Matthew s Hope, while also electing a new mayor pro tem and appointing commission liaisons to various boards during their meeting Tuesday, April 6. Since March 20, 2007, the commission has utilized the policy they put into place over a decade ago to elect the mayor pro tem annually even in non-election years by rotating down through the seniority list. This year s title of mayor pro tem went from Commissioner Larry Brinson to Commissioner Rosemary Wilsen.

3 weeks ago Share Residents in Ocoee, Windermere and Winter Garden elected a mix of new and returning candidates to help lead their respective municipalities. It was a big day for local politics in West Orange County, as voters from three municipalities Ocoee, Windermere and Winter Garden went to the polls to elect their leaders March 9. Winter Garden voters selected members for districts 2, 3 and 4, while Ocoee had openings for City Commission District 2 and District 4 seats. In Windermere, three Town Council seats were available. Between the three municipalities, there was a total of 16 candidates seeking election. WINTER GARDEN CITY COMMISSION In Winter Garden, six candidates campaigned for three open seats on the City Commission districts 2, 3 and 4.
