Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana stated that 25 Sri Lankans were arrested by the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) for transporting narocotics on two raids which were conducted near the island of Minicoy.
During the first raid which was carried out on 05 March, 06 Sri Lankan nationals were arrested when the ICG inspected a fishing vessel that set sail from Chilaw.
It was also revealed that more than 200 kilograms of heroin were dumped in the sea during the raid.
The second raid which took place on 15 March, had the The second raid was carried out by the Indian Coast Guard on March 15, when the attention of the ICG was drawn to three fishing vessels that had set sail from Tangalle of Sri Lanka.
Abdullah, 13, is stranded in a prison for minors in north-east Syria since. He has been in camps and prisons since 2019, when Kurdish-led forces launched an attack against Baghouz.

The mother of a baby was arrested in connection with a video circulating on social media showing a baby being brutally beaten.
Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana stated that the incident was reported from the Jaffna - Ariyale - Navaladi area.
The video shows the nine-month-old baby being beaten by a 24-year-old mother with a stick, then dragged into a room and beaten again with a stick, where the baby cries in agony.
The mother was arrested and the baby was taken into police custody when the Jaffna Police went to the house and conducted investigations into the video which was circulated on social media.

Former General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party Prof. Rohana Lakshman Piyadasa stated that the party will represent the Trincomalee oil tank farm in the same manner as it represented the Eastern Terminal of the Colombo Port.
He was speaking at a media briefing held in Kandy yesterday.
However, speaking to the media in Colombo yesterday, Energy Minister Udaya Gammanpila stated that he had never stated that the Sri Lankan Government would take over the Trincomalee oil tank farm.
