According to Rural Metro Fire, fire crews quickly contained a vehicle fire that had moved into a structure near the entrance of Rogue Community College.

SAND CREEK, Ore On Friday, Rural Metro Firefighters were called to a vehicle fire in the 2500 block of Jerome Prairie Road, which was near the entrance to Rogue Community College.
The Oregon Department of Forestry Southwest District reported the fire had spread to the adjacent duplex, prompting an upgrade to a structure fire response.
According to Rural Metro, Additional RM units and an engine from Grants Pass Fire Rescue were mobilized to the scene.

The Rogue Community College Board of Education at its Dec. 15 meeting unanimously selected Maria Ramos Underwood to serve as an interim member. She will represent Zone 7 which encompasses the northeast quarter of the city of Medford. The position was filled due to the passing of board member Ron Fox in September.
Ramos has deep understanding of community colleges as an RCC healthcare partner, alumnus of Mesa Community College, an RCC student parent and as a faculty spouse.
