Emporia State University has announced the winner of its most prestigious faculty award.
This year s Roe R Cross Distinguished Professor honor goes to economics professor Rob Catlett.
The Roe Cross award has been bestowed on a professor every year since 1979. Honorees are chosen for demonstrating teaching excellence, professional activities, development of intellectual atmosphere, service to ESU outside the classroom and work as a student mentor.
Catlett is currently an associate professor of economics. He also directs the university s Center for Economic Education and Center for Community Research. Catlett came to Emporia State in 1978 after receiving degrees from the University of Nebraska in 1974 and 1975.
