Mayo Clinic has swooped in with a massive donation that will prevent the Rochester Public School District (RPS) from taking drastic cost-cutting measures next year.
A collaborative effort with Winona State University, the program is aimed at addressing student mental health needs and the lack of qualified providers to meet those needs.
“People are really passionately committed to addressing these issues,” Superintendent Kent Pekel said. "Every student feeling safe, and that they belong in our schools, is a foundation to learning.”
