Ohio National Guard members made their way to University Hospitals to lend a helping hand as hundreds of caregivers have been sidelined with illnesses of their own.
As COVID-19 case numbers continue to surge in Northeast Ohio, members of the Ohio National Guard have been deployed to area medical facilities to help support staff
University Hospitals has reduced the number of inpatient beds and reassigned caregivers from its Bedford and Richmond hospitals to other, higher volume UH hospitals. The two hospitals will now have 14 inpatient beds each, and UH Bedford will no longer have operating rooms.
