Residents of the Frewsburg Central School District appear to have no complaints about the proposed 2021-22 district budget.
On Thursday, school officials hosted a public hearing on the proposed budget in which no district residents attended. Also, Shelly O’Boyle, Frewsburg superintendent, told The Post-Journal no written correspondence has yet to be been submitted to school officials regarding the proposed budget.
Last month, the Frewsburg Board of Education approved a proposed 2021-22 budget that includes a 1.71% tax levy increase. The proposed budget totals $18,985,983, which is $923,139, or 5.11%, increase over the approved 2020-21 district budget.
The proposed budget has a significant increase in state aid, going from $11,315,741 in this year’s budget to $12,401,696. Last month, O’Boyle said Frewsburg will be receiving an increase of more than $700,000 next year in foundation aid. She said Frewsburg has been owed additional foundation aid s

The Frewsburg Central School District might be asking local residents this spring to approve a capital improvement project.
On Thursday during the Frewsburg Central School District Board of Education meeting, Shelly O’Boyle, Frewsburg superintendent, discussed the possibility of a capital project vote in May. The discussion started by O’Boyle talking about how the district’s architect, Young and Wright Architectural, recently completed the building condition survey, which details how much life is left in different aspects of each school facility. She said the survey will be used to determine the most needed items for the district’s next capital project. She also said 2021 is the next planned year for a capital project in the district, which is done every five years.

FREWSBURG The Frewsburg Central School District is now shifting its focus during the COVID-19 pandemic to getting teachers and other school staff vaccinated.
On Thursday during the Frewsburg Central School District Board of Education meeting, Superintendent Shelly O’Boyle said district officials’ focus has shifted to the vaccination now that teachers and other school personal, which includes board of education members, are eligible to be inoculated.
O’Boyle also discussed how she had a conversation with a CVS official about using the school building to vaccinate all employees who would like to receive the shot, which is not being mandated by district personnel. She said even though school personnel has been allowed to receive the vaccination since Jan. 11, it’s been difficult to make an appointment to receive the vaccination.
