WHITE HALL â Marion County Project Graduation is personal for Jim Boyers.
âMy wife Betty was very dedicated to Project Graduation,â said Boyers, chairman of the board of directors for First Exchange Bank. âShe helped for many years and was instrumental in its early successes.â
Boyers donated three Apple Watches as prizes that be up for grabs at this yearâs Project Graduation. According to Roberta Steele, the coordinator of the project, this year is the 33rd celebration, but it looks like it will be the last.

The Marion County Commission presents a proclamation for Autism Awareness Month.Â
FAIRMONT â Honoring public safety telecommunicators and National Autism Month took top billing at Wednesdayâs county commission meeting.
Itâs reported that 60% of police officers will have some interaction with an autistic person in their career. Julie Sole, executive director of the Disability Action Center, said Senate Bill 634, which calls for police officers to be trained on how to respond to those with autism, was being signed by the governor on Wednesday.
