Pelley good evening. This is our western edition. They were 44 High School Kids looking to a bright future, to be the first in their families to go to college. For many of them it ended in a slit second on a california highway north of sacramento, a truck colliding head on last evening with the bus taking the kids on a college tour. Tonight, investigators are trying to figure out how it could have happened. Ten people were killed, including five students, three chaperones, and both drivers. 34 others were injured. John blackstone is on the scene. Fedex truck and a bus. Reporter the sound of the impact could be heard more than a quarter mile away. This was a horrific collision. Reporter glenn county sheriff larry jones right after that impact, there was a tremendous fire with very high temperatures. Reporter the fedex truck was traveling southbound on the interstate when it veered across the median, through some bushes and into the north bound lane where it clipped a car and hit the bus
