RILL announces summer schedule – Gazette Journal

Posted On May 12, 2021 Rappahannock Community College’s Rappahannock Institute for Lifelong Learning (RILL) will offer several classes this summer with some held in-person and others on Zoom. “Church and State in Colonial and Revolutionary Virginia” will examine how Virginia moved from a royal colony with few dissenters and a well-established Church of England to an independent commonwealth that declared religious freedom to be a natural right of mankind. Robert Teagle, executive director of Historic Christ Church and Museum in Weems, will teach the class on May 26, June 2 and June 9 from 10 a.m. to noon each day in the Bayne Center. Advanced registration and payment of $35 is required.

New commander named at Fort Bragg for U.S. Special Operations Command

The Fayetteville Observer Editor s note: This story has been corrected to state that Lt. Gen. Bryan Fenton will be leading the Joint Special Operations Command, which falls under the U.S. Special Operations Command. A previous version of the story incorrectly listed one of his commands.  The Department of Defense has announced 13 leadership changes for Fort Bragg, since the start of 2021. On Jan. 25, the chief of staff of the Army announced that Lt. Gen. Bryan P. Fenton would be the commander of the Joint Special Operations Command and Joint Special Operations Command Forward.  Fenton previously served as the senior military assistant to the secretary of defense in  Washington, D.C.

(Tribune News Service) The Department of Defense has announced 13 leadership changes for Fort Bragg, since the start of 2021. On Jan. 25, the chief of staff of the Army announced that Lt. Gen. Bryan P. Fenton would be the commander of the Joint Special Operations Command and Joint Special Operations Command Forward. Fenton previously served as the senior military assistant to the secretary of defense in Washington, D.C. According to Fenton s biography, he is no stranger to Fort Bragg. He previously served as a battalion commander at the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School and as a brigade commander for the Joint Special Operations Command.
