response from the police? and america tonight special report, ferguson decision. and good evening and thanks for joining us for this america tonight special report. i m joie chen. we are waiting now for a news conference from missouri near ferguson. an announcement due at any moment on whether the grand jury will return an indictment in the shooting of michael brown. michael brown s family community leaders even the president of the united states have all pleaded for calm no matter what the grand jury s decision is. while law enforcement has been beefing up for what could be a very difficult night. you can see outside the courthouse there in clayton, missouri, where the decision will be read, the grand jury will not be there, they have already been dismissed but a large crowd is gathering there. this is a community near ferguson, missouri but where the county seat courthouse is. we have seen the scenes of ferguson reaching the flash point and brought back down to the simm
five indictments. sparking months of demonstrations including a couple of weeks of protests that sometimes turned violent. jay nixon called a state of emergency in advance and called up the national guard. early last night he pleaded for calm and so did michael brown s family after they were informed of the decision. robert ray is in clayton, where the grand jury was working on the case of officer wilson. robert you were there, as prosecutor mccullough announced the decision of the grand jury. what was the reaction of the crowd near you. antonio, good evening. in front of the justice center in clayton, you know it was silent to be honest with you. out here you could hear a pin drop as we were listening to the prosecutor, robert mccullough. you know interesting, details came out, the grand jury started meeting on august 20th, antonio. they met for 70 hours over the course of the past three and a half months. they were able to hear over 60 witnesses and they came to the con

the world. we begin with the sony hacking story. tonight the fbi says there s little doubt that north korea is responsible. president obama says the u.s. is planning a response. he s also calling out the corporation exposed in the cyber attack. randall pinkston reports. john, north korea is denying responsibility for the sony cyber attack but u.s. investigators say the evidence points directly at pyongyang. president obama promises action. president obama put north korea on notice. the u.s. will strike back for the cyber attack on sony pictures. they caused a lot of damage. and we will respond. we will respond proportionally and a place and manner that we choose. it is not something that i will announce here today at a press conference. the fbi says it consulted with several u.s. agencies and consultants. the fbi cited several factors for its conclusion. malwear, including similarities of code and encryption algorithms. known north korean infrastructure and they found s
