Three indicted in Manchester man s death

Freddy Scalf LAUREL COUNTY — Three people involved in the Dec. 20 death of a Manchester man were indicted by a Laurel grand jury on Friday. Robert Brandon Gray, 39, of West City Dam Road in Keavy, is now facing a charge of murder involving the shooting death of Jeremy Caldwell. Caldwell was found in a business parking lot off KY 490, five miles north of London, with a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Ashley Brooke Lewis, 30, of Four Oaks Road, and Freddy Wayne Scalf Jr., 29, of Star Hill Road, both of East Bernstadt, are charged with complicity to commit murder. Lewis and Scalf are additionally charged with second-degree persistent felony offender.

Photo contributed Scalf A third suspect wanted in a murder that occurred on Dec. 20 was arrested early Saturday morning. Freddy Wayne Scalf, Jr., 28, of East Bernstadt was taken into custody at about 1 a.m. after Laurel County Sheriff s deputies learned information on his whereabouts. Scalf was located off KY 1376, about 6 miles north of London.  He was charged with complicity to commit murder. The Laurel County Sheriff s Office announced Thursday afternoon that a $500 cash reward will be given for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Freddy Wayne Scalf, Jr., 28, of East Bernstadt.

BREAKING NEWS: Second suspect wanted in murder of Manchester man arrested

Photo submitted Photo contributed At approximately 8 p.m. Tuesday Clay County Sheriff Patrick Robinson along with CSO Supervisor Dewey Grubb, Deputy Coty Arnold and K9 Deputy Wes Brumley along with K9 Ghost arrested Ashley Lewis, 30 of London. The arrest occurred after Sheriff Robinson received a tip that Lewis was at a residence off of Cool Springs Road. Lewis was wanted for complicity to commit murder that happened in Laurel County on Dec. 20. Upon arrival, Sheriff Robinson and deputies surrounded the residence and located Lewis attempting to hide in a bedroom. Lewis was placed under arrest without incident.  TUESDAY AFTERNOON UPDATE
