What do we know about this first case so far . Reporter we know this person contracted the zika a. The Health Department says when they got home to North Carolina they started to feel sick, had symptoms of the virus, went to the doctor. The doctor tested, that test came back positive. The Health Department says theyve been carefully monitoring this person. And want to remind people theres no need to panic. The virus still cant be passed from persontoperson. Began to proactively prepare for the possibility of the zika virus making its way to North Carolina months ago. They say theyve been keeping in close contact with officials about the virus and where it is spreading.
