Workers package up boxes MORE than 260 food parcels have been donated by a Bolton business advisory and accountancy firm in a campaign to make sure no families in the borough go hungry during the pandemic. Cowgills, based on Chorley New Road, has handed the essential deliveries to Bolton Lads and Girls Club as well as raising more than £7,500 for the cause. Cowgills partner Rob Lord explained why the company got involved in the campaign. He said: “We have been long-standing patrons of the Bolton Lads and Girls Club, which works tirelessly to support children, young people and their families across Bolton. We were eager to use our network to support their campaign and help to feed local families through lockdown.

Richie McCaw smiles before the start of the Coast to Coast at Kumara Beach on Friday. “I m in pretty good nick in that regard. My team-mate [Nichol] has had a bit of a crook knee. He woke up real swollen this morning, so he s done damn well to get here,” McCaw said. “He was in a bit of pain in that last bike ride. He gritted his teeth and was pretty courageous really.” The tandem event involves both competitors doing the entire course over two days together, staying within 50 metres of each other on the bike and run sections, while paddling the Waimakariri River leg together in a double kayak.
