Paul Bunyan, according to his larger-than-life legend, is a man of many accomplishments. Along with his blue ox, Babe, he created Minnesota s 10,000 lakes with his footprints. He made the Grand Canyon with his ax and Mount Hood with stones.
But he is not, apparently, invincible.
The iconic 18-foot statue near the shores of Lake Bemidji was found this week to have suffered a major separation in his right arm. Just below the shoulder of Bunyan s buffalo-plaid lumberjack shirt, the concrete cleaved, and it s now held together only by the rebar that runs through him.
As is typically the case with the American folk hero, plenty of stories have been circulating about how Bunyan broke his arm.

“My dad joined the Brotherhood in 1930. I promised him that I’d keep it going,” Jensen told the Ludington Daily News.
The Danish Brotherhood purchased the Hall in 1895. It was previously a Methodist church.
“We started bingo through the state in 1973, but as far as bingo goes, we’ve had it here for 60 or 70 years,” Jensen said. “Before the state organized it, they used to do it for canned food and stuff like that.”

Ontario’s stay-at-home order has effectively curtailed many outdoor, drive-in and even virtual events planned for the winter months.
One thing that isn’t cancelled: getting exercise. If you live near the waterfront and are walking around, Harbourfront Centre has erected two light installations by Rob Jensen, Warren Trezevant and Creos, best known for their work with the Burning Man Festival.
The installations are part of Harbourfront Centre and the Waterfront BIA’s outdoor winter exhibitions Festival Of Cool and Northern Ontario Diaries.
