Vote on this tonight i have concerns around the multi lingual pathways and the dollar amounts weve allocated for particular programs and i guess my biggest concern is around is not knowing exactly what our strategy is for growing programs be stabilizing program, aligning programs 13,000 for the tagalog program is nothing id like to have time to understand our plan for stabilizing our k program and how that feeds into the high school before i will allocated an amount the alternative not to allocate the dollars tonight but to put in x number of dollars that go into the multi lingual prop programs and for us to work through a strategy around this because i think it is very specific on how many ftes are going to programs and im not clear on whether or not those are the appropriate program to move our language programs forward thats my concern around the pathway programs and the other thing that came up for me in reviewing this we break down the excel role well and i guess i have questions
You can build a program with a small fte he and even im looking at the multiple entry pots for multiple language i i mean, i dont know 0 how were going to probable build something that is strong weve been working on the physically program for how many years and innovate a dictate staff person it is gone through the it rags and if we want to make that program a Solid Program i dont think that. 4 is sufficient. I will so thats the reason ill not support the amendment. Superintendent. My work started as adoing Domestic Violence and sexual asult work all most 30 years ago. I was schooled and trained and mentored by strong women many were survivors of Domestic Violence. Many of the issues i experienced in my own life and it was only because of somebody taking the time to care for me, it was because of a strong mom and grandma that im here today and able to do as wanda said, wake up every morning grateful for the opportunity to go to work and make a dif rrnsh in the lives of young people and dhat work is only possible because of community because of the amazingstaff at larken street and all you who care about San Francisco and children youth and families and vulnerable populations and i cant thank you enough for what you do is allowing me to bring my daughter quhoo is my Guiding Light and where i learn the most and for whome i astatic who gets to live and be educated in San Francisco. I want to thank you emily [inaudible] from inschool board and commission on the status of women mpt our generational leaders like jan morrison and so many that are here today, the honoree we have chosen is a amazing champion fighting hunger and food insecurety. Her name is maria stokes. I think the honoree for richmond is such a great example of a ordinary person who does extraordinary things every day. When i see her riding to work or the family as well, she is a amazing person and a San Francisco resident since 19 [inaudible] school edge children that go to argon elementary. She works as chunication director for project open hand, a amazing Non Profit Organization that provided over 1 million new trish ameals with love and i think that is a common theme within one year. It is a common theme of food is love and the love that is provided with every single meal, every 1 million per year who is with love to the sick and elderly neighbors in San Francisco.
