Deputy Premier The NSW Government is powering ahead with plans for the Singleton bypass, announcing it will build a full interchange for the bypass with the Putty Road. Deputy Premier John Barilaro and Minister for Regional Transport and Roads Paul Toole said the Singleton bypass would be the biggest road infrastructure project in Singleton’s history. “We are getting on with the job of building the game changing bypass that Singleton deserves,” Mr Barilaro said. “We’ve heard from the community that they want a full interchange at Putty Road to make it easier to access Singleton town centre from the bypass and that’s what we will deliver.

Haulage restrictions and single-lane traffic flow will come to an end on the ageing bridge on Eltham Road in the Ballina Shire after the upgrade is complete. Ten of thousands of Sydneysiders have gridlocked roads out of the city on Good Friday for the Easter long weekend - sparking fears undetected Covid cases could be spread across the state.  Restrictions are in place for Byron Bay and surrounding areas - one of the most popular holiday spots in the state - after a series of cases were linked to a hen s party at a pub in the north coast town. On Friday, hundreds of cars were filmed bumper to bumper choking the M1 Motorway north from Sydney as holidaymakers left for long weekend getaways.  The M1 out of Sydney on Friday afternoon was bumper to bumper for 40km as tens of thousands of holidaymakers head away for the Easter weekend (pictured)
