In a reversal of an earlier decision, San Francisco Superior Court Judge Rita Lin found that of nine Asian potential jurors public defender Max Breecker dismissed during peremptory challenges, three were excused for impermissible reasons. The case involves domestic violence prosecutors said the suspect, 38-year-old Jo’Vaughn Timms, shot and injured his girlfriend during an argument in May 2018. The woman named as victim is the case is Asian and Black.
