Ugandan distance runner Peter Maru made his Razorback debut special with an Arkansas school record in the 5,000m as he placed third in 13 minutes, 17.86 seconds at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational hosted by Boston University on Saturday.
Arkansas transfer Jack Turner led a 1-2-3-4 Hog finish in the heptathlon on the second day of the Razorback Invitational as he improved his career best to a score of 6,000 points at Randal Tyson Track Center.
The defending national champion Razorbacks host their first meet of 2024 with the Arkansas Invitational on Friday, January 12, at the Randal Tyson Track Center. A dozen newcomers are scheduled to make their Razorback debut in the meet, which includes four freshmen and eight transfers.
Five additions to the Razorbacks program through transfers include sprinters, hurdlers, and middle-distance athletes joining Arkansas for the 2023-24 season.
Emma Anderson and Riley Wells, both of Lincoln, have been honored on the president’s list at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, for the spring 2023 semester.
