of gray seals off the coast of cape cod. we have been monitoring the sparchtion this population and the fact that they are saying year-round which probably has something to do with the fact that the white sharks will pay attention to these seals. rick: as we look at these great whites, the beaches can be opened or closed depending on the judgment of local officials. what would you advise officials whether beaches should remain open? my objective is to get on the water. study the sharks, follow their movements, look at their residency patterns. all we can do in terms of providing advice to local officials is give them this kind of information to help them make wise decisions. we interact with the officials
