The New York developer behind a scuttled housing rezoning plan in Harlem resubmitted the proposal for consideration by the city government Thursday but intends to expand a controversial truck depot that he built in place of the apartment complex in the interim, the Daily News has learned.
The mailer, which includes the City Council seal, offers a rundown of Richardson Jordan’s accomplishments so far on the lawmaking body, but it also includes a link to her political website as well as typos and spelling errors.
The project's developer, Bruce Teitelbaum, laid blame squarely on the area's socialist Council member for the opening of the truck depot, which he was able to develop without a zoning change.
After the housing proposal fell apart in the spring of 2022, the project’s main developer opted to build a truck depot on the site since it wouldn’t require rezoning.
