Nearly two months into a tide of opposition to their proposal to move the O'Bryant School of Math and Science, Mayor Michelle Wu and Superintendent Mary Skipper maintained that the West Roxbury Education Complex is the best site for the new campus during a tour of the facility Monday morning.
The alumni-only tour was meant to gather feedback on the 'potential' for the exam school to relocate to the former West Roxbury Education Complex, city officials said.
While they acknowledged the need for more space, O'Bryant parents and teachers raised concerns about potential consequences, like a decline in diversity, the disruption of community partnerships, and longer commutes.
