As we’ve pointed out, the West has gone all in with the vaccine magic bullet approach, when that’s not a great public health idea, unless the goal is the low bar of keeping hospitals from collapsing. It’s unlikely that any vaccine that combats a respiratory virus will achieve the level of sterilizing immunity.

Belfast Hills walk could finally be created after 75 years

They provide a dramatic backdrop to our capital city, attracting visitors throughout the year. Stretching from the limestone of Belshaw s Quarry through the woodland of Colin Glen, traipsing the basalt of Divis and Black Mountain, north to Ligoniel Dams and to the volcanic plugs of Carnmoney Hill, before reaching the cliffs of Cave Hill - the Belfast Hills are one of Northern Ireland s most popular beauty spots. There is one issue, however - no walking route runs right through the hills, from start to finish. But that could be a thing of the past, if plans put forward to Belfast City Council by campaign group the Belfast Hills Action Campaign (BHAC) come to fruition.
