Come Friday, February 12, 2021, each of the 16 regions would be required to elect one representative to the Council of State as required by law. Nana Afena Nketia II, who is known in private life as Fred Zeini, is an accomplished businessman who owns and runs a number of businesses in the country, and believes that the Bono East region has the potential to become the economic hub of Ghana if the numerous natural resources in the area are properly harnessed and developed.

Godfred Donsah Foundation targets deprived areas in three regions FEB 4, 2021 Godfred Donsah Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organisation which seeks to render a wide range of humanitarian services to the less-privileged in society is set to make significant impact on the lives of several thousands of people in the Bono East, Bono and Ahafo regions this year and beyond. The Foundation, which is based in Sunyani, has taken delivery of its first container which has a wide-range of items meant for distribution to people in remote and deprived areas in the three regions. Among the items to be distributed mainly to health and educational institutions are medical supplies and sports equipment, among others.

Sunyani Technical University steps up measures to prevent Covid-19 Following the President’s last update on Covid-19 on Sunday, 31 st January, 2021, management of the Sunyani Technical University has intensified measures to protect students and staff, a Press Release signed by the Public Relations Officer of the University, Dickson Kyere-Duah has said. Subsequently, management has directed the University’s Covid-19 Taskforce and the Security Section to ensure strict compliance and enforcement of the Covid-19 Protocols on campus. Management, at its regular meeting on Monday, 1st February, 2021, has directed all Faculty Members to employ combined face-to-face and Virtual Learning tools to minimize human contacts as much as possible. Large classes should be broken into groups/sessions where face-to-face is required.
