Tuesday, April 20, 2021   View Larger + Joseph R. Dias Jr., 66, of Cranston, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 18, 2021.  He was the beloved husband of Lori (Marandola) Dias for 30 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Joseph Dias Sr., and Sarah (Cotoia) Dias.  Joseph attended Berklee College of Music in Boston studying composition, classical clarinet, saxophone, and flute. During that time, he also traveled with a 13-piece show band touring the east coast. Joe and his brother Donald opened a restaurant and catering company, JoDonys in Cranston, Rhode Island. Joseph’s passion was the real estate business. A successful businessman, Joe opened Keller Williams Central RI in Cranston and, along with his partners, built the company into the largest real estate office in the state. As the owner of “The Dias Team” at KWCentralRI, Joe earned several designations including CRS, GRI, CDPE, ABR, Broker, and was also a member of the Greater Providence Board

Maybe no home in Rhode Island demonstrates the state of the real estate market more than the house at 124 Depasquale Avenue on Federal Hill. Then-Mayor Vincent Buddy Cianci announced that in partnership with a developer the city was building 21 single-family homes on Depasquale Avenue and Federal Street. The homes at the time would sell for about $80,000 and be marketed to first-time home buyers.

GoLocalProv | RI Has Lowest Inventory of Homes for Sale During Spring Season on Record

PHOTO: GoLocal The number of homes for sale for the spring season in Rhode Island is the lowest on record. With just 1192 single-family homes on the market in Rhode Island, the current inventory is approximately 25% less than the previous monthly record low of 1594 in the spring of 2002, said the RI Association of Realtors.
