Arkansas Military Veterans Hall of Fame presents appreciation awards From Staff Reports © Submitted by Keith Greene Retired Master Sgt. Paul Foster, left, and retired Col. Conrad Reynolds received appreciation awards from the Arkansas Military Veterans Hall of Fame for their years of service and dedication. The Arkansas Military Veterans Hall of Fame recently presented appreciation awards to retired Col. Conrad Reynolds and retired Master Sgt. Paul Foster for 11 years of service and dedication to the project. Reynolds, a Conway resident, was the founder and chairman of the board. Foster, a Vilonia resident, was a founding member of the board of directors and served as secretary and treasurer for many years. Both men retired at the end of 2020.

Editor’s Note: Mr. Santiago passed away on Jan. 30. He was a prolific writer who often wrote letters to the editor for the Killeen Daily Herald Letters column. His family says he finished his last letter hours before he died, and that writing letters to the editor was a passion of his. His final letter was published Feb. 5. Santiago remembers searing heat on his back and blinding light in his covered eyes as he witnessed atomic bomb explosions in the early 1960s at the U.S. government’s Pacific Proving Grounds in the Marshall Islands atoll.
