spending may be waxing. the department of health and human services tells congress that they need $30 billion in new spending to address the pandemic. nothing is in writing. but democrats are ready to spend. they haven t sent us a relief package yet. obviously we ll have to do something. whether it s restaurant relief, ppp, fda, whichever vehicles that we re using to make sure that the folks that need it the most are getting it first. the committee for responsible budget says there s at least $200 billion in unspend health dollars. lawmakers from both sides are leery of more spending as inflation spikes. i don t think that they need more money. i think they need to spend the money that s been appropriated with various bills, more than half bipartisan in a responsible way. it s a challenge for lawmakers to fall on the proper side of covid policy as the virus mutates. republicans have to be
