This is the second of five hearings the Committee Plans to hold the spring on oversight of the Congressional Budget Office. E as we discussed, cbo was created more than 40 years ago as part of the congressional budget and since then they been a vital support agency that provides nonpartisan budget analysis and the hearings are intended to help us learn more about how the agencies carries out mandates of supporting congress and the federal budgeting process and to consider areas in which the agency can improve. Cbo has not undergone a comprehensive review since it was founded. The demands have changed since 1974. We want to make sure the agency has what it needs to fulfill its mission
