Stradling: Why Conservatives Supported Trump’s Presidency
Republican Party of Los Alamos
Last week I responded to Councilor Izraelevitz and the “thought police” approach to political differences employed by him and the partisan liberal press. There was another aspect of his letter that compels response.
It is ignoble and false of him to narrowly equate our enthusiasm for the Trump presidency with embracing real or imagined errors, or actions ascribed to him by his enemies. It is false to describe the success of his presidency as “mythical”, when it was, in fact, legendary.
Mr. Trump’s policies and efforts, to place America first, to Make America Great, are laudable, and America deserves more of the same.
Stradling: Response To County Councilor David Izraelevitz
Limitations on free speech have no place in Los Alamos County.
In his story (link), Mr. Izraelevitz has all cars going in opposition to former President Trump, except for the sadly misguided few. This is what the partisan press would have us believe! But in reality, half of the nation is driving in the opposite direction of Mr. Izraelevitz and Ms. Korkos (link).
Totalitarian governments use their official power to enforce ideological conformity, whether liberal or conservative. Mussolini’s policy compelled the people of Italy to eliminate the “weakness” of diverse thought. Fascism was enforced by bands of black-shirted thugs, propaganda press, and secret police. Democrat President Woodrow Wilson, a “progressive liberal”, developed a system of repression unprecedented in our history. He established the Committee on Public Information and a secret police, with agents in every town across America. People who publishe
Letter To The Editor: Yes! Stop The Steal!
Los Alamos
An article “RPLA Comments on Events of Jan. 6 in Washington, written by Bill McKerley, Chair of the Republican Party of Los Alamos, was published online Jan. 12 (link).
The pivoting in this article from a worthwhile topic to one that has been thoroughly debunked left me wondering what the purpose of the article actually is. I also wonder whether it represents the views of other members of the Republican Party.
After some remarks condemning the riot at the Capital Building on Jan. 6, the McKerley article pivots to repeating claims of election fraud, similar to what Trump and his supporters have been falsely claiming for months. Lawsuits based on those claims have been dismissed, over and over, because they lacked any evidence.
