Elections: Parties File 25 Petitions Against Nigerian House Of Reps Speaker, Gbajabiamila, Others In Lagos Over Alleged Breach Of Electoral Act

To challenge the victories of the Nigerian House of Representative Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, and some other candidates of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), during the legislative elections of February 25, 2023, no fewer than 25 election petitions have been filed by opposition parties with the Lagos State National and State House of Assembly Election Petition Tribunal.   According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the petitions were pasted on the wall of the Rosaline Omotosho Courthouse Ikeja, the venue of the tribunal sitting.

Nigerian university lecturers, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), have stated that none of their agreements with House of Representatives’ Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, which resulted in the suspension of their eight-month industrial action in October, has been implemented.
