A Michigan county Republican party has voted to censure U.S. Rep. Fred Upton (R-MI) after he voted to impeach President Donald Trump.
Upton joined nine other Republicans, including fellow Michigander, Rep. Peter Meijer (R-MI) of Grand Rapids, in impeaching Trump after House Democrats rushed through a resolution.
Mlive reported that delegates to the Allegan County Republican Convention voted to “censure and condemn” Upton’s vote:
The delegation stated Upton “ignored the voice of his voters in Allegan County” by voting for Trump’s impeachment. The delegation claimed “incomplete evidence, little debate, and the absence of due process” led to its condemnation of Upton.

As some Republicans try to make a break from the politics of former President Donald J. Trump, his loyalists have issued a series of censures and denouncements that lay bare the roiling conflict within the party.
The Nelson County, Ky., GOP deemed Sen. Mitch McConnell unfit for the Republican Party after he issued a scathing denunciation of Trump’s actions during the Capitol riot. The group voted unanimously to censure the senator.
More than half of House GOP petition to remove Cheney from leadership
More than half of the House Republicans signed a petition calling for the removal of Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) from GOP leadership. It’s a good move because the GOP is in danger of losing tens of millions of party members.
Cheney’s career in the House is likely over, but she can become a CNN or MSNBC analyst. We’d advise the flailing Fox to avoid hiring her.
Liz Cheney was the highest-profile Republican member of Congress to declare her support for impeaching President Donald Trump.
Jake Sherman obtained a copy of a petition that calls for a special conference to meet to discuss Cheney’s leadership role as No. 3 House GOP leader and demand her resignation as chairman of the GOP Conference.
Wyoming State Senator Challenges Liz Cheney for US House Written by Andrew-Rossi on January 21, 2021
Anthony Bouchard cites two politicians as his inspiration for a run on the national stage: current Representative Cheney and former U.S. President Donald Trump.
A Statement of Candidacy has been officially filed by Wyoming Republican Anthony Bouchard of Cheyenne to the Federal Election Commission – Bouchard will challenge Representative Cheney in the primary election for the 2022 Election when Cheney is once again up for reelection for Wyoming’s sole seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.
In a Wednesday Twitter post announcing his campaign, Bouchard pulls no punches.

CHEYENNE – The Wyoming Republican Party issued a statement highlighting an outpouring of opposition from its members in response to U.S. Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., voting to impeach President Donald Trump on Wednesday for his role in the U.S. Capitol riot that occurred a week earlier.
The party issued the statement late Wednesday night, a few hours after Cheney joined nine other Republican representatives in voting to impeach Trump for his role in inciting the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, making him the first president to be impeached twice.
