PIERRE – Lincoln Kienholz went five-for-six with two doubles, a triple, four runs scored and an RBI Saturday as Post 8 defeated Yankton 14-5 at Hyde Stadium to complete a sweep of the best-of-three first round series in the Class A Legion Tournament.
Kienholz scored on an error with the first run of a four-run fourth inning that put Post 8 (24-17) ahead for good. Andy Gordon was three-for-four with four RBI and two runs. Jayden Wiebe was three-for-three with two RBI and three runs. Bennett Dean drove in two runs. Jack Merkwan had two hits.
Maguire Raske struck out seven in four innings of relief to earn the win.
