C&K add to tactile switch portfolio

C&K add to tactile switch portfolio Following the KSC Tireless Endurance (KSC TE) tactile switch with 10 million cycles at 1.6N, C&K has launched a 5 million cycle version with higher actuation forces at 2.8N and 4N in a 6.3mm x 6.2mm x 3.5mm form factor. Now with three choices of actuation forces (1.6N, 2.8N, and 4N), the KSC TE extends C&K’s high lifecycle miniature tactile switch product portfolio. In addition, by offering much longer lifecycles, the KSC TE helps ease the design cycle and outperforms the competition for its size and force range. These  tactile switches are suitable for a wide range of demanding applications in the industrial, elevator, gaming, and computer peripherals markets.

Five million cycles from clickier tactile push button

Five million cycles from clickier tactile push button C&K is claiming five million cycle life from miniature tactile switches with 2.8N and 4N actuation force – these follow a 10 million cycle 1.6N version. The part family is named KSC TE, with ‘TE’ standing for, well… “the Tireless Endurance name says it all”, said C&K product manger Regis Clement. “It is the combination of a soft actuator and a revised internal structure that enables the KSC TE to provide such high life cycles and reliability. We are the first to offer this solution in the market with a 6mm x 6mm form factor.”
