Article content Earlier in the afternoon, crews from the County Regional Fire Service responded to higher-than-usual calls for service due to fires throughout the county. Firefighters from the Dunes firehall were dispatched to a grass fire near Resources Road. When crews arrived, they discovered a grass fire that was rapidly spreading. Firefighters extinguished the blaze. The cause of the blaze was an illegal fire pit. We apologize, but this video has failed to load. Try refreshing your browser. Wa 'Kejetia' Market Sitting On A Time Bomb – GNFS | General News

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has observed that the Wa ‘Kejetia’ market located in the central business district is currently sitting on a time bomb as far as fire safety is concerned. The already highly congested market has its situation further compounded by ongoing construction works and worse of it was the location of two fuel stations beside each other right within the market. Mr Martin Bakobie, Divisional Officer III (DO III), the Upper West Regional Public Relations Officer (PRO), who disclosed this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Wa on Friday said a fire safety audit of the market by the Command revealed that it was sitting on a time bomb waiting to explode with a little trigger, adding that per its current nature, any fire outbreak there would be catastrophic.
