Detective's death prompts outpouring of grief, sympathy

Detective’s death prompts outpouring of grief, sympathy Published: July 24, 2021, 4:31pm Share: Law enforcement officers investigate the scene of a reported shooting at The Pointe Apartments on Friday evening. (Amanda Cowan/The Columbian) Condolences came pouring in for the Clark County Sheriff’s Office and family of Detective Jeremy Brown, who was shot and killed Friday evening in east Vancouver. State Rep. Brandon Vick, R-Vancouver, said Saturday on Facebook: “I don’t wear the badge. Frankly, I’m not sure that I have the guts to do so. But I am grateful everyday for those who do. Our hearts are broken for this officer and their family, who simply went to work last night in service to us all. This is a tragic loss, and our family will always have a profound respect for those fighting to keep us safe. I hope that our law enforcement community knows that most of us average citizens have their back.”
