Health exec: Davao Oriental Covid-19 situation under control

April 25, 2021 THE Covid-19 situation in Davao Oriental remains under control after continuing to experience a downtrend of active cases and high recovery rate, a high-ranking health official in the province said. Davao Oriental Provincial Health Officer Dr. Reden Bersaldo said in a Facebook live interview with SunStar Davao s The Talking Heads that the province, along with Davao Occidental, had the highest recovery rate at 96 percent. He said this was higher than the entire regional recovery rate of 92.2 percent. He said the province s case fatality rate is at 2.9 percent, lower than the 4.2 percent overall fatality rate of the region. According to the Department of Health (DOH) data as of Saturday, April 24, 2021, the province had a total of 1,418 confirmed Covid-19 cases, wherein 29 were active cases, 1,355 have recovered, and 34 died.
