well, as i said, joe biden is very popular in the state of california. it is his first visit here. they re going to be going up to northern california to survey the wildfire situation up there. of course brought on by climate change. which we know the republican party has tried very hard to to say is a fraud. but of course we know in california it is real. and then they ll be in long beach together, really talking about what this is, which is the weaponizing of a recall process to try to elect a republican governor in the blue estate in the nation. so, people are very excited to see the president. of course, he chose his vice president, our senator, the first woman vice president kamala harris. so there is a lot of excitement about the visit. and of course i think we re also going to be hearing a lot about
for this to proceed. time is of the essence, the 2022 midterms are upon us. again, no signal that some of the democratic senators, joe manchin, kyrsten sinema have any intention to reform the filibuster. the california recall, you talked about the participation we ve seen. president biden is on his way now. the recall, let s talk about it broadly, costing taxpayers nearly $300 million, right? recall supporters got more than 1.5 million signatures, which is 12% of people who cast ballots in all of 2018 in the governor s race. you mentioned and i know, and you know i know that california secretary of state, should there be a higher bar for the recalls moving forward, do you think? we get the same question about the recall as we do with propositions and the initiative process in general in california, and i would be shocked if the legislation didn t take up a number of reform measures to the recall process, when they reconvened in january, in the state capitol.

now, dana, that gavin newsome appears may win. but, you know, larry elder s within striking distance. is what he has said about senator dianne feinstein. dana: oh, right, because well, senator dianne feinstein has said she s not going anywhere but apparently all the democrats are like oh, counting the days maybe she s going to go somewhere. so they re hoping that the democrats are saying if larry elder or another republican wins and they re the governor and she dies, he gets to report another republican and that will be the end of the senate. one, it s offensive to dianne feinstein so not only are they talking about racial issues, sexism and it s awful. but notice in the comments when they said they were going back and forth with each other. larry elder was making all policy arguments and gavin newsome made only personal attacks. so i think that s one of the reasons the californians that want to vote newsome out are thinking about it. i don t love the recall process,
