NECAC kicks off Reality After Release program
A new program offered by the not-for-profit North East Community Action Corporation gives participants a chance to learn about obstacles faced by former prison inmates as they adjust once their sentences are fulfilled. Pictured during a demonstration of the program June 23 is NECAC Executive Secretary and Office Manager Christina Ray, left, portraying a drug dealer whoâs being sent to jail by Intake Assistant Tiffanie Anthes, seated, who is playing the role of the judge. Standing at center is NECAC Randolph County Service Coordinator Patsy Redding, who was portraying a police officer. Rayâs character eventually was released from jail. The Reality After Release program will be offered in a variety of settings, and is similar to NECACâs Poverty Simulation and Reality Enrichment and Life Lessons (REALL) programs.
