SERDANG: A senior citizen who was Covid-19 positive was found dead at his home in Bandar Putra Permai, Seri Kembangan with a slash wound on his throat.
Serdang OCPD Asst Comm Razali Abu Samah said the police and officers from the Health Ministry rushed to the scene at about 9pm on Friday (Jan 22). Checks revealed there was no criminal elements in his death. We discovered a slash wound the throat of the 66-year-old man, he said when contacted on Friday night.
ACP Razali added that police at the scene also discovered a knife next to the victim s body. The investigation revealed that the man did a swab test at a private hospital on Jan 7 and was confirmed to be Covid-19 positive the next day. A second swab test was conducted in Jan 18 and the results on Jan 20 revealed that he was still positive, he said.

SERDANG: A snatch theft gang responsible for more than a dozen cases here and in Kajang was busted by police with the arrest of three men recently.
Serdang police chief ACP Razali Abu Samah said today that the three suspects who are aged between 20 and 30 were held in Sungai Buloh, Cheras and Kajang in the early hours of Jan 1 by a police team from the district serious crimes unit.
He said police seized cellphones, gold jewellery, laptop computers and cameras, all believed to be stolen, from the suspects.
Razali said all three suspects who have 22 past records for crimes and drug related offences are believed to be responsible for 14 cases of snatch thefts in Kajang and Serdang over the past 10 months.
SERDANG: The police have arrested 16 people as investigations into a complainant being harassed by loan sharks for nearly two years despite not borrowing any money continues.
“Based on the now viral news of a house being harassed by ah long in Pucak Jalil, the police met up with the complainant on Jan 4. We received a photo of a MyKad from the complainant and we followed up on that.
“On Jan 7, we raided a house in Bandar Puteri Puchong and arrested 16 local men that we believe are loan sharks. They admitted to throwing the paint at the complainant’s house, ” Serdang OCPD Asst Comm Razali Abu Samah said at the district police headquarters Monday (Jan 11).
