Sonitpur: Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Chief Executive Member (CEM) Promod Boro has said that he and other members of the Council had requested Union Home Minister Amit Shah to release The National Democratic Front of Boroland NDFB (R) leader Ranjan Daimary from jail on humanitarian grounds .
Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of the 48th annual conference of Nikhil Bodo Student Union in Dhekiajuli, Sonitpur district of Assam, Boro said that he and other members of BTC requested Shah to release Daimary and other jailed Bodo leaders as peace has been established in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) and release of Daimary is also necessary as he too was one of the signatories of the Bodo Peac

The Bodo students body, a signatory of the Memorandum of Settlement signed on January 27, 2020, submitted its memorandum to Shah when he was in Guwahati on Saturday.
