Nepal’s trade deficit at the end of the first nine months of the fiscal year 2020/21 stood at Rs 1.01 trillion, rising by 12.49 per cent from the previous year. The deficit has been rising every year despite the government trying its best. But, on Saturday, Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel announced yet another ambitious yet controversial plan to reduce the trade deficit.
