Two sent to hospital after being struck with bricks falling from South Main Street building

Goode FALL RIVER  Two people were taken to the hospital after a facade on a South Main Street building collapsed on them about 12:30 Tuesday.  A Fall River Police Department news release indicates that two men, ages 34 and 25, were taken to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment.  Police described the 34-year-old s condition as critical but stable, while reports indicate the younger victim is in stable condition. According to Glenn Hathaway, director of inspectional services for the City of Fall River, work was being done on the roof of the building at 285 South Main St. when workers tried to remove loose bricks, causing the facade to collapse on two pedestrians.
