An expert committee has been set up to look into the tunnel collapse incident in Jammu and Kashmir s Ramban district in which 10 workers were killed, officials said on Sunday.
New Delhi, May 22: The Centre has constituted a committee of 3 independent experts to investigate the reasons for recent collapse of a part of under-construction tunnel in Ramban on Jammu-Srinagar highway and suggest remedial measures. Ministry of Road Transport & Highways on Sunday said that the cause of the under-construction four-lane tunnel collapse on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Ramban is yet to be determined if the incident took place due to the work being executed or natural reasons.
Jammu and Kashmir tunnel collapse: Special committee formed to probe incident - The joint rescue operation was conducted by the army, police, NDRF, SDRF, ITBP, civil QRTs, and the NHAI as well as the machine operators.
