The Allahabad High Court judgment, which was passed on February 26, dismissed an appeal by the Gyanvapi mosque committee against a Varanasi district court order allowing Hindus to offer prayers in the restricted area called Vyas Ka Tehkhana.
Plaintiffs in other Gyanvapi related cases were found celebrating with the Allahabad High Court's Monday order. Rekha Pathak, one of the four women plaintiffs in suit no 18/2022 Rakhi Singh and others vs UP state and others in which they are seeking worshipping rights of Shringar Gauri and other deities inside Gyanvapi mosque compound, along with the team of her lawyers distributed sweets and shouted slogans like 'Har Har Mahadev.'
The fast-track court of civil judge (senior division) has reserved its order on the applications moved by three individuals to become a party in the original suit no. 610/1991. The next hearing is on Feb 28.
The court of the additional district judge-I directed Anjuman Intezamia Masajid (AIM), the committee that manages Gyanvapi mosque, to submit its objection to the plea seeking an Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) survey of the two unsurveyed Gyanvapi cellars by Feb 28. Next date of hearing scheduled for Feb 28.
